Long lines in Madison, Wisconsin From: Ben Manski
October 28, 2008, 9:04 PM Severity: 2 - mild
Location:Madison, WI 53706What happened:Very long lines at the Madison City Clerk today. Those attempting to cast early votes were faced with a a nearly two-hour wait as of lunch time today, October 27th. Several people who attempted to cast early ballots over the lunch break ended up giving up and heading back to work. I worry that such long lines now, a week out, in a place like Madison (which has a tradition of encouraging access to the polls), are a bad omen for poll worker and polling location shortages elsewhere in the country. How I know about it:I personally witnessed it. Additional Information:Contact me via my user account.
