Long lines in Madison, Wisconsin

From: Ben Manski
October 28, 2008, 9:04 PM
Severity: 2 - mild

Location:

Madison, WI 53706

What happened:

Very long lines at the Madison City Clerk today. Those attempting to cast early votes were faced with a a nearly two-hour wait as of lunch time today, October 27th. Several people who attempted to cast early ballots over the lunch break ended up giving up and heading back to work. I worry that such long lines now, a week out, in a place like Madison (which has a tradition of encouraging access to the polls), are a bad omen for poll worker and polling location shortages elsewhere in the country.

How I know about it:

I personally witnessed it.

We shall strike. We shall organize boycotts. We shall demonstrate and have political campaigns. We shall pursue the revolution we have proposed. We are sons and daughters of the farm workers' revolution, a revolution of the poor seeking bread and justice.
